The best day awaits you along the slopes of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano with our Rincon de la Vieja Volcano Combo Tour. This volcano has been active in the past few years with frequent eruptions of mostly gas and steam. Don’t worry though – we won’t be going anywhere near the craters (which is no longer allowed anyway). But we will get the benefit of all that pent-up steam which is released into hot springs, creating pools of different temperatures for soaking in – combined with purifying mud baths! Other highlights of the day include a ziplining course with 8 cables, a Tarzan Swing, and a rock climbing wall, a refreshing and thrilling and insanely fun 5 km river tubing trip on Rio Negro, and a leisurely horseback ride along forest trails. You can participate in all of the activities, or pick and choose. You will also be treated to a delicious buffet lunch.

 

Your private driver will pick you up at your lodgings, and you can make a pit stop for coffee along the way. Upon arrival at the park, Adventure Center staff will greet you and help you get oriented for your activities. At the end of the day, your driver will return you to your lodgings.

 

Your day includes:

• Door-to-door spacious and comfortable transportation with your private chauffeur. Note: You may want to wear your bathing suit under your clothes, or wear clothing that you can swim in, and bring a change of clothes if you want dry clothes for the ride back.

• Approximately 2.5 hours long drive with a pit stop for coffee along the way

• Entry to Hacienda Guachipelin

• Ziplining course over a steep canyon with a river below. The course has 8 cables, 18 platforms, a tarzan swing, and a rock climbing wall.

• 45-minute Horseback ride along forest trails, viewing the flora and fauna of Rincon de la Vieja volcano.

• 5 km river tubing on Rio Negro – You’ll begin at the foot of the Victoria Waterfall, and will enjoy the river’s crystal clear and refreshing rapids in your individual rafting tube. The guides will accompany you to ensure your safety.

• A visit to the mud baths and hot springs of Rio Negro. They feature ten pools with thermal waters heated naturally by the volcano. The river flows constantly through the pools, refilling them with water. The hot springs, combined with the volcanic mud baths are a relaxing and refreshing ritual.

• A plentiful buffet lunch with options for vegetarians, vegan, and gluten-free diets.

• A safe return to your lodgings between 5:00pm and 6:00pm.

What to bring: Sports sandals that strap on and that can get wet (Closed toe Keens are always popular), bathing suit or clothes you can swim in, a towel and change of clothes, sunscreen, hat, bug repellent, snacks (especially if traveling with children), motion sickness medication if needed (our Costa Rican roads can be bumpy). In an effort to reduce single-use plastic, please bring a reusable water bottle.
